Backorder Tracking System
Dallas Smith
Create a backordered item tracking system. Example: wer know we're going to be short a piece on a specific order. We drill down into that order. We select the backordered item and input an expected completion date. Backorder is reflected on packing materials (customer knows they did not receive and when they should expect to receive). A "backorder report" is available letting us know what we're missing and what order it matches up with. When complete we have the ability to mark it so.

Backordered Option In Purchasing

Under the Purchasing section, add backordered as an option just like we have Create PO, Assign or In stock. That way production knows they are not going to be in soon, instead of it just saying need to be purchased.

"Backordered" order status

It would be helpful if the "order status" column had more options. If an order is backordered, on hold, partially shipped, etc it's impossible to tell when looking at the open orders list. You have to go into each order in question and hope someone put an explanation in the notes.

At this day and age....this feature is truly a necessity to the success of an on-line store.

Working In OPEN ORDERS
Nate Baldry
We should be able to work directly in our open orders. Too many reports, etc. We run on-demand stores so we need to be able to track current orders within the OPEN Orders tab. It's become very difficult to monitor out of stocks, etc. Would be great if we could mark something ordered, or Back ordered within the order itself. And for those notes to show up when the packing slip is printed, or receipt. If I could open up the order, check ORDERED next to the item, or BACKORDERED with a ETA, etc... this would allow my staff and decorators to keep better tabs on things. Even when we print a packing slip, the customer would know exactly what is backordered and the ETA. Saving us time to email, blah blah blah. And on the STATUS section it would show Ordered, Backordered, etc... not READY TO SHIP, that's very generic. That really does us no good. It's hard to be efficient with all the back and forths. This doesn't apply for each and every order, but it's become extremely hard to navigate the out of stocks. And they are here to stay. Even a NOTES section on each item that saves with the packing slips/receipts would be helpful. Again, just needs to be a better way to work within and edit our orders from the OPEN Orders section.

In addition to this we need to be able to mark individual items in an order fulfilled without fulfilling the entire order. So if only one item is on back order we can fulfill the others and then just have the open order for the one item with the eta for when it is expected to be in.

yes please. Backorders are killing us in the system. any ability to track what is on back order and what has already been delivered. What would be really cool is a way to notify the customer an item is on backorder.

Yes. We need this for sure. I just had to go through a crappy situation with this. This would let the customer know what to expect incase there is a backordered item/s.
