Copy & Paste

Randy, what operating system and browser are you using? This action is controled by the browser you are using. In Chrome, if the text is plain text, you should just be able to copy and paste it into any doc or application using the standard keyboard shortcuts. If the text is a hypertext link, there are keyboard shortcuts to extract just the text (see below). I tested this on my Windows system with Chrome, and I was able to copy plain text from any text in a proposal or order (Crtl V, Ctrl C). There are also browser extensions that will give you more flexibility for copying plain text. For Chrome: Copy as Plain Text Extension in the Chrome Web Store. Your issue could also be a result of using a different browser.
Mac
Option + Shift + Command + V: Paste without formatting (in many Mac apps).
Use Command + Shift + V in some apps like Google Docs.
Windows
Ctrl + Shift + V: Paste as plain text (in Chrome, Edge, and some apps).

Craig Mertens we have the same issue. Create a proposal, add an item and then try to copy the item number on the item and it copies as a link not as plain text.

BigChuck What exact steps did you take to correct the issue? I was not able to replicate it in Chrome, just a right click, copy and paste into Notepad. See below.

Craig Mertens I am not running browser extensions for copy/paste. It is copying a hyperlink for me not plain text (exactly as OP is stating) so it is not working correctly for me either. Plain text would be nice when pricing and copying ridiculous item numbers for brands like Carhartt and North Face.
My exact steps were, I highlighted the item number, right-clicked copy, and crtl+v into my program/browser of choice. And it pastes as a hyperlink not plain text

BigChuck: This is a bit baffling as I can't reproduce the issue, but I am using the standard Chrome browser in Windows, no extensions. We also checked this on Mac. Copy and paste behavior is governed by the browser and the application you are pasting into. Google apps give you a copy as plain text option as well as formatted. What browser are you using? Web apps are typically optiimized for Chrome, Edge, and Safari, so some browsers will behave differently. I am wondering if this is a browser specific issue.

Craig Mertens I am running the latest version of chrome on the latest version of Windows 11

BigChuck I have the same set up, I just get plain text. If it is already a hypertext link, I get the option to "copy as link".
BigChuck
Craig Mertens These are the options I have when Highlighting
and this is inside of a proposal, I chose copy. I just did it again and trying to recreate and today it pastes as plain text!?!?!?!?!?!?! IDK what is going on.
